Hocho is a table without borders—a place where food connects people, travel becomes story, and shared experience brings us closer to what it means to be human.
Honor the craft.
Honor the journey.
Carry forward.

03 The story
To gather around food is to share more than a meal. We share where we've been, what we've learned, and what we carry forward.
Hocho means kitchen knife in Japanese—a symbol of purpose, discipline, and the hand behind the meal.
Born in Baltimore, rooted in Black culture, and guided by a traveler's curiosity, Hocho brings Japanese technique into conversation with flavor, memory, and hospitality. It is not fusion for novelty's sake. It is food made with intention—familiar enough to welcome you, unexpected enough to stay with you.

05 The craft
Every dish honors originality, honest technique, and clean, thoughtfully sourced ingredients—often organic, and many valued for flavor, nourishment, and their longstanding place in wellness traditions. The bread, creams, compotes, syrups, and finishing details are built in deliberate layers, with every element earning its place.
